Accommodations:
It is highly recommended and preferable that you stay at the Kinneret Spa Hotel with the rest of the volunteers and the archaeological staff. Lectures and announcements take place at the hotel; questions may be more easily answered and problems solved, as hotel and excavation staffs are right at hand. Feeling a part of the group is also reinforced by staying together. The Kinneret Spa Hotel is only a 10-15 minute walk from the site, along the beautiful promenade of the Sea of Galilee. You will be close to all the tourist attractions in Tiberias: the Sea of Galilee, Tiberias Hot Springs, and the Promenade with its various restaurants and pubs. You will be in a room with air-conditioning, TV and private bathroom.
Breakfast & lunch will be served at the site, while dinner will be
served in the hotel dining room. Additional hotel amenities include
internet access, café, bar and sun terrace with sauna.
The room is reserved from Saturday night until Thursday afternoon. This means that you'll have a room on Saturday night, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Check out is after lunch on Thursday afternoon (around 4:00pm). Meals start with the Sunday morning breakfast, and end with lunch after excavating on Thursday. Those wishing to stay in the hotel for the weekend will have to reserve individually for that period, and are entitled to a special rate.
